Poor Baby Lynx A-N-G-R-E With Monkey Lucy
Deep in the quiet green forest, a tiny baby lynx lived under a tall pine tree. The little lynx was fluffy, curious, and still learning about the big world around him. Most animals in the forest thought he was adorable. But one morning, the baby lynx felt very a-n-g-r-e.
Not far away lived a playful monkey named Lucy. Lucy loved to jump from branch to branch, swing on vines, and sometimes play silly tricks on the other animals. Usually the forest animals laughed at Lucy’s games, but on this particular day, her joke went a little too far.
Earlier that morning, the baby lynx had found a shiny blue feather. It was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He carefully placed it near his sleeping spot under the tree and went to search for breakfast.
Lucy the monkey had been watching from above.
“Ooooh, what a pretty feather!” Lucy said to herself. Curious and mischievous, she climbed down, picked up the feather, and scampered back into the trees.
When the baby lynx returned, the feather was gone.
He sniffed around the ground. His ears twitched. His tail flicked back and forth.
“Where is my feather?” he cried.
From the tree branches above, Lucy giggled.
The baby lynx looked up and saw Lucy holding the feather. His tiny paws stomped on the ground.
“That was mine!” he shouted. Now the little lynx was truly a-n-g-r-e.
Lucy stopped laughing when she saw how upset he was. She hadn’t meant to make him sad. Slowly, she climbed down and handed the feather back.
“I’m sorry,” Lucy said softly. “I thought it was just a game.”
The baby lynx looked at the feather, then at Lucy. His anger began to melt away like snow in the warm sun.
“Next time, ask first,” he said.
Lucy nodded. “Deal.”
Soon the two were sitting together under the tree, talking and laughing. Lucy even helped the baby lynx decorate his little home with more feathers and colorful leaves.
And from that day on, Lucy remembered that even playful jokes should never hurt a friend’s feelings.
