Amina’s Sleepy Night and the Glass of Milk

Amina Is Very Sleepy While She Needs to Drink Milk

Amina rubbed her eyes as she sat quietly on the edge of her small bed. The room was dim, lit only by a soft yellow lamp that made everything feel warm and calm. It was late at night, and all she wanted to do was lie down, close her eyes, and drift into a peaceful sleep. Her eyelids felt heavy, as if tiny weights were pulling them down. She yawned slowly, stretching her arms before letting them fall back to her sides.

But there was one problem—Amina still needed to drink her milk.

Her mother had gently reminded her just a few minutes ago, placing a warm glass of milk on the bedside table. “Drink this before you sleep,” she had said with a smile. Amina knew it was important. Milk would help her grow strong and healthy, and it was part of her nightly routine. Still, at that moment, it felt like the hardest task in the world.

She stared at the glass. The milk looked inviting, with a little steam rising from the top. Usually, she liked drinking it, especially when it was warm and comforting. But tonight, her body felt too tired to even lift her hand. She leaned forward slightly, resting her chin on her palm, fighting the urge to fall asleep right there.

“I can do this,” she whispered to herself.

Slowly, she reached out and picked up the glass. It felt warm in her hands, which made her feel a little better. She took a small sip. The milk was smooth and soothing, and it seemed to wake her up just enough to keep going. Sip by sip, she continued, even as her eyes tried to close again.

Finally, after what felt like a long effort, the glass was empty.

Amina smiled sleepily, placing it back on the table. She quickly lay down, pulling her blanket up to her chin. Within seconds, she was fast asleep, proud that she had finished her milk despite being so tired.
